We had an awesome morning today, as our whole school enjoyed a visit to Howden Park Centre to see their fabulous panto Mother Goose. We all had a great time sharing in some festive fun, laughter and singing, even Mr Murray ended up as part of the cast!

Children in Need Danceathon 2022
This year to raise money for Children in Need, we held a “Come as you Please” day and held a P1-7 Danceathon. Pupils and staff came to school wearing whatever they chose – some chose to wear their own clothes, some chose to wear their Pudsey t-shirts and accessories.
We threw some pretty awesome shapes at our Danceathon – the Macarena was definitely a favourite!
We raised a fantastic £149.33 for Children in Need!
Book Week Open Morning
P4/5 loved having their families in to share in their Literacy learning. We worked on reciprocal reading skills and were able to teach our adults these skills. It was so lovely to share some ERIC time with them too.
Outdoor Learning With P2
Primary 2 are really enjoying their outdoor learning again, now that the weather is getting better. They have been sharing books and stories, setting up the hammock independently and collecting rubbish from our site.
Green Fingers in P1A
Everyone in P1A has made a super start to our final term in Primary 1!
We have been outside quite a bit this week, making the most of this lovely weather. We have been getting to grips with some new gardening tools which will be very handy when we start planting in our allotment.

P6 Successful Learners

P7 Literacy and Developing Their Reading Culture
P7 loved reading the book ‘Billionaire Boy’. We wrote book reports which included paragraphs, opinions, conjunctions, and interesting adjectives.
We also put QR codes on our display, which links anyone who scans it to a video of some of the P7’s discussing their opinions about the book.
P5 Continuing to Develop Their Reading Culture
Primary 5’s celebrated World Book Day and then continued to develop their reading culture in class by creating their very own ‘Starbooks’ café.
Most of us brought our favourite books in from home to read and some of us borrowed a book from the Starbook’s menu. We enjoyed a sweet treat and a nice drink as we read our books. Miss Roscilli put on café background noises, which made us feel like we were in a real reading café.
A Busy Time in P6/7

Safer Internet Week
Safer Internet Day was officially on Tuesday 8th February this week, however we wanted to celebrate this for the whole week.
Across our classes this week pupils were learning more about staying safe online, particularly around this year’s theme, ‘All fun and games? Exploring respect and relationships online’. The Digital Leaders set assignments on TEAMS and SEESAW for everyone to complete.
Digital Leaders shared online safety posters with each class to display in their ICT area. and at assembly they also shared their next exciting digital challenge for our learners – task focusing on staying safe online. This competition is going to be our biggest yet, with a very exciting prize!
