Another way we celebrated Read a Book Day at Toronto was for Primary 1 and 7 to spend time reading with their buddies. The Primary 7s did a great job at helping their P1 buddies choose a book to read together and take home. What a lovely way to spend an afternoon!
To celebrate Read a Book Day, Toronto Primary took part in a Teacher Reader Swap. Each teacher took their favourite short story to read to another class. It was a great way to celebrate reading and everyone enjoyed listening to a lovely story from a different teacher!
What a week we have had this week! It truly Christmas Parties, Santa’s Den, Christmas Assemblies, Nativity. Even the Toronto Staff couldn’t help but get into the Christmas Spirit! It really is a wonderful time of the year!
Christmas and Happy holidays to all, from everyone at Toronto!

We would like to wish all of our parents/carers a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes! We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 9th January 2023.
The staff team have made a Christmas video to wish all of our children and families a very merry Christmas! You can view it here: Staff Christmas Video 2022
We have been really loving the playground in the cold weather over the last week. It has allowed for lots of different play opportunities during our breaktimes. Our pupils and staff have been creative with their play and had lots of fun. We made sure we were wrapped up for the weather though!
We are continuing to develop our playground areas to make them fun places to be during break times. Our PSW staff are leading games and activities with our children and we are continuing to see the positive impact it is making. The pupils are engaged, helping each other, using their imaginations and becoming more independent in leading these activities themselves.
Our playgrounds are such positive places to be!
We had an awesome morning today, as our whole school enjoyed a visit to Howden Park Centre to see their fabulous panto Mother Goose. We all had a great time sharing in some festive fun, laughter and singing, even Mr Murray ended up as part of the cast!
This year to raise money for Children in Need, we held a “Come as you Please” day and held a P1-7 Danceathon. Pupils and staff came to school wearing whatever they chose – some chose to wear their own clothes, some chose to wear their Pudsey t-shirts and accessories.
We threw some pretty awesome shapes at our Danceathon – the Macarena was definitely a favourite!
We raised a fantastic £149.33 for Children in Need!
