Today we had a fun filled session with Jonathan from Livingston Athletics Club. We tried out our skills in running and long jumping, and had a great time competing against each other.

New Years Resolutions
Our first week back after the Christmas holidays was a busy one! What better activity to begin the new year than to reflect on the last year and make plans and goals for the year to come. We remembered all the activities we have enjoyed during 2018, when we were still young P4’s and P5’s! We thought about the things that are still to come for us this year- Lowport, trips, responsible roles, and decided to set ourselves some targets for 2019.
We created this display to share our thoughts and ideas, and help keep us on track.
P1 Learning
We’ve had a busy first week back at school. In Maths, we learned about odd and even numbers through using our smelly socks! We also made patterns using different materials in the classroom then looked at number patterns by counting in 2’s. In Literacy, we sounded out three letter words independently.
Brilliant Books
Last term we held a Book Fair, where many children from across the school purchased some fantastic books. Due to the number of books purchased during the time the Book Fair was in school, we managed to raise some money to spend on books for our school. Children from the Pupil Leadership Team and pupils from P5/6 were responsible for choosing and ordering some new books to update our school library. There were so many good books to choose from, prices to consider, budgets to adhere to, it really was a tough job!
Just before Christmas our first box of books was delivered and our second box was delivered this week. The Helping Hands team have been busy organising the books this week and putting them out into the library for all to read.
We can’t wait to settle down with a good book!
Fun with Fractions
Fraction Pizza
Primary 7/6 started a job with Pizza Hut today and had to create pizzas to match their customers orders. The customers had to fill out an order form with exactly what they wanted for each fraction of the pizza. We had some vegetarian pizzas, and even stuffed crust. Will we have satisfied customers?
Elfin’ Around
Primary 3 had fun this week making elf hats. We think we could do a good job of helping Santa out this Christmas, if he is hiring!
Primary 3 would like to wish all our Toronto friends and families a very Merry Christmas!
Christmas Panto
Yesterday, Toronto Primary School enjoyed a whole school visit to Howden Park centre to see their fabulous panto Jack and the Beanstalk. We all had a great time sharing in some festive fun and laughter, even Mr Graham ended up as part of the cast!
Christmas word cloud
P 5/6 have been using there ICT skills to create Christmas word clouds. We used WordArt.com to create them. We thought of lots of Christmas words and we put them into some Christmas shapes. Here are a few of the masterpieces that we made…

Christmas Crafts with our Buddies
Primary 7/6 and 7 have been working on instructional writing this term. They wrote instructions on how to create a Christmas card to help their Primary 1 and 2/1 buddies create a card. They had so much fun this afternoon creating them! 🎅🏼
Well done Primary 2!
Primary 2 were given a challenge.
Their challenge was to design and make a model of a rocket/spaceship.
Their rocket was to have:
- a door that an astronaut can open
- a name
- and a window so the astronaut can look down to Earth
And what a fantastic job they did!!
Mrs Richmond and Mrs Lumsden had a great time hearing all about how they had made their rockets, what they had used and the name they had chosen for their rocket.
Well done Primary 2!!👍👍
