P2/1 Activities

Snowy Day Writing

  1. Write an imaginative story about ‘The Beast from The East’

  2. Write a Haiku (traditional form of Japanese poetry). Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.
    Example
    Footsteps in the white
    Where did the journey begin?
    Snow on snow on snow

Illustrate your writing – let your imagination run wild!

Sumdog

Remember Sumdog! https://www.sumdog.com/
You can all have fun and challenge yourself to improve your maths, reading and writing skills using this fun site. You can play against friends from your class or from children around the world!! Can you create a Users Manual? Imagine that an Alien has arrived at Toronto PS and needs to learn how to use Sumdog. Sadly the Alien can only read – they can’t hear you!? Have a go.

Getting Ready for World Book Day!

We had a great time looking at the books that are available to buy with World Day Vouchers. All pupils at Toronto PS will be receiving a voucher on Thursday 1st March, World Book Day. We are looking forward to swapping books and having a good day highlighting the importance of books and reading.

All these books are available from all good shops to buy with your World Book Day Voucher that all children at Toronto will receive by Friday 2nd March.  Have a great World Book Day when it comes!
