The children are having lots of fun with the Rookie Rockstars. Today they learned another two songs, as part of the preparation for their concert next week and to record on their CD later this week. Today’s songs were “Bullies ain’t big” and “Hey, hey, I’m ok”. All classes have been busy designing a CD cover for the PUSCPS CD and the winner will be announced at the concert next week. In the meantime, here are a few photos from the fun today. Mrs Campbell and Miss Mulhearn took on the Rapbattle challenge against Katy and Sam, and they won! Well done to them all for taking part!

Emotion Works with P6
LI: To develop the skills to manage our emotions
SC:
I can … describe what an emotional trigger is
I can… describe the effect of an emotional trigger
I can… use emotional vocabulary
I can…. draw in detail
The children took part in a class discussion about the effect an emotional trigger had on their mood, describing how their mood changed after the emotional trigger. We looked specifically at emotional triggers which changed our moods from happiness to sad / angry. First we made a word bank of the
appropriate emotional vocabulary. The children created a picture to show their mood before the emotional trigger, then describe the emotional trigger and finally showed the change in their emotions after the emotional trigger. Once the drawing was complete the children had to use at least 5 examples of emotional vocabulary for each emotion. Some children presented their pictures to the class and discussed their change in emotions.
