P7 Responsible Roles

Primary 7 were super excited to find out their new Responsible Roles today! Although the roles may look a bit different this year, they still have an important leadership role to play in our school.

During school closures they completed an online form job application to apply for the role they would like to be considered for, stating the reasons why.

Their Responsible Roles in the playground  are:

  • Magical Mediators

  • Playful Pals

  • Safe Security

The children will start their rota on Monday supporting P1 and 2. We will establish new job descriptions to keep everyone safe and keep to our class bubbles.

Calder Movie Afternoon

Calder were the term 1 house points winners. Summer and Kyle surveyed the children in Calder to find out what they would like their treat to be and they selected a movie afternoon. They then did a survey to find out which movie and they picked Nanny McPhee. We also picked juice, popcorn and ice lollies for refreshments and dressed in our pjs. We had a fun, relaxing afternoon with our house buddies! Thank you to Kyle, Summer and the P7 Young Leaders for helping to organise and set up the party.

Congratulations Calder!

Primary 7 Celebration Assembly: Class of 2019

Wow! Today we joined together to celebrate Primary 7s time at PUSCPS. The whole school joined together, along with their families and invited guests, including staff who previously worked at PUSCPS.

Primary 1 sang a buddy song to Primary 7 to thank them for being such supportive buddies. It was a lovely surprise!

In the style of Through the Keyhole,  two teams had to use clues to guess the school year, the Primary 7s used memories, interesting facts about school and music as clues.

Primary 7 sang some songs, including this is me, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Miss Burton gave a speech, reminding us that our memories are our greatest treasure and surprised us with a video of our Primary 7 journey.

Mrs Andison shared a lovely poem and said some lovely words about our PUSCPS Journey. Mrs McConville thanked people who helped us along the way.

We had  a huge surprise in store for the Primary 7 children and our whole school … A staff video!

You can tell by the photos that everyone was very surprised and found it very funny!

The school sang As We Go Now to our Primary 7s to wish them well.

Our Primary 7s shared their hopes for the future and what jobs they would like to be in the future.

We presented our Primary 7 children, with a certificate, their Year Book, tablet, a dictionary and their high school tie. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to Parent Partner fundraising so we could gift these items to the children.

It was lovely that so many of our Primary 7 families could join us to celebrate.

A huge good luck to our Class of 2019 and we wish them well on their future adventures!

Almond Pyjama Party – Wednesday!

Almond will have a Pyjama Party on Wednesday 26th June at 11am for winning the house points this term.

As we have the P7 Celebration Assembly in the morning children should BRING their PJs or party clothes to change into for the party.

Sorry for the short notice about the party but we wanted the children to enjoy their treat before the end of term.

House and Vice Captain Afternoon Tea

This week during our Junior Leadership Teams meetings, Miss Burton had prepared an afternoon tea to celebrate the leadership skills of our house and vice captains. We shared our favourite memories of the year, and our hopes for the future. It was lovely to hear them talk so positively about their Primary 7 experience and how they hope they have the same opportunities at high school.

A big thank you from Miss Burton for your leadership, support and laughs over the year, I really will miss you!

P6 and P7 Helpers @ Parent Consultations

It has been lovely catching up with parents and carers at our parent consultations this week. There was a great buzz across the school and lots of learning conversations.

A big thank you to our Primary 6 and 7 helpers for keeping the consultations running smoothly. We really appreciate them giving up their time to help us.

The book fair will be in school until Tuesday if you still would like to purchase a  book. A percentage of profits made will enable the school to purchase new books.

One of our P7s even decided to make their own movie!

Families Learning Together 3

We had a fantastic turn out for our third Families Learning Together session last week. Families joined their children so they could share their learning in their jotters so far this term. They also had the opportunities to give two stars and a wish about their learning. Thank you to everyone who made it along.

Thank you to our P7 Young Leaders who helped out at this event.
