Repost: Children in Need 2019

On Friday 15th November, we are having a Children in Need fundraising morning.

To raise money we will be:

  • Dressing up or dressing down for a donation. Why not dress up in yellow or in spots like Pudsey?
  • Having a ’Guess the Baby Teacher’ competition. Pupils can try to correctly match the baby pictures to teacher’s name for the chance to win a prize. Each entry will cost 50p.
  • Holding a bake sale in the dining hall. We would be very grateful for any parent/carer baking donations. Please hand any donations into the office and list the ingredients used  for those with allergies.

Thank you for your support.

Movies for Magale

On our last day of term Mrs Strachan and the Global Group organised a Movies for Magale Day. Children could opt into a movie they wanted to watch and also dress down in their own clothes.

We raised an amazing £200 for our partner school in Magale. A big well done to the Global Group and to everyone who donated.

Primary 2S takes the mail!

Primary 2S had a very responsible job today! They had to go to the Scotmid  post office to send the school’s pen pal letters to Magale school in Uganda. We hope to hear back from Magale school soon.

As we have been learning about food that is good for us in class, we decided to buy a healthy apple when we were there. We  had this for an afternoon snack after our busy writing lesson.

Supporting Our Magale Partner School

In October, the Cromie’s went to visit our partner school in Magale. During their trip they were able to see the benefits of the money we as a school have raised to support the children at school in Magale.

They also exchanged some penpal letters our children wrote to them, and the children at the school replied to the letters.

Recently they sent out 3 million Ugandan Shillings, which is the equivalent of £630. This is an amazing donation from our community, thank you to our Global Gang who have organised our fundraising and to  everyone who has contributed.

Here are some photos of the children using some resources they have purchased – slates, chalk and supplementary reading books.
