Tigers make it to George Allan Final

The annual George Allan Football tournament took place on Sunday the 21st of May. Our Linlithgow Tigers managed to win all but one game giving them a chance at the title in the final against Linlithgow Bridge Primary. Linlithgow Bridge stole a goal and despite all efforts the Tigers could just not equalise. It was a valiant effort by all. Well done Tigers. If you want to watch the highlights of the game please follow link below.

In the other League our Leopards dominated many games but were unable to secure a victory over Springfield, narrowly missing out a spot in the final.

Well done to both teams. They are now preparing for the next local competition which will be the Round Table Football Festival on the 4th of June which will take place at the Leisure Centre on the new 3G astro turf pitch.

Multiplication & Division Family Learning Event

Review of Inspection Findings

Launch of ‘Quality and improvement in Scottish education 2012-16’ report  Chief Education Inspector Dr Bill Maxwell has published a review of inspection findings (click bold text for link to report), over the last four years, highlighting some areas of growing strength and five key areas for further improvement.

The report covers all sectors and makes engaging reading for those interested. It covers all areas from early years provision to adult learning and gives a narrative summary of findings from inspections and other evaluative activities gathered from observing practice at first hand across the whole country.

Each child will only speak at one of these assemblies and I will inform you nearer the time which one that will be.

 Help! Big Scarecrow Team Challenge

I am planning a team challenge with the assistance of Mr Ross and Mr Fagin our school janitors which hopefully will take place just after Easter and will conclude our farm topic.

As part of this we will need to collect old (adult) clothes and newspapers which will be used to make 2 life size scarecrows.  Any materials that we do not use will be recycled in line with us being an eco school.  These can be sent in at any time along with anything else that you think might be useful for scarecrow making!

Adult helpers will be needed for this challenge but I am not quite sure of dates and times at the moment.

Thank you to everyone for your continuing support and please remember if you have questions, queries or indeed good ideas – come and speak to me!
