P1 Sharing the Learning 5.6.20

Hi, mixed weather, mixed motivation and mixed activities going on this week, and we think you have been showing amazing resilience,  imagination and ideas in what you are doing at home.

Best of all, has been to see our families taking time to enjoy the sun when it is shining, making time to just enjoy life and do fun things.

This week, some of you have shared your learning:

What made you proud this week?

What was a challenge? Our Marine biologists have worked hard this week making others aware of the dangers of plastic and pollution in our oceans.

What was fun?

What have you been reading?

I wonder what next week will bring?

Learning at Home Week 9 for P4

Once again you have all been amazingly busy this week. Some of the activities this week have been 3k runs, baking cookies, making bird feeders, litter picks, messy science experiments, dog walking, measuring out 2m distances on the street so you can chat to friends, football challenges and learning to make a cup of tea. That’s not to mention finding out about Africa, hammerhead sharks, woodpeckers, or the life of lions. Well done all of you. Here are a few of your comments and some photos.

O – This week I enjoyed the May Calendar and problem solving and maths and fractions.

L – I enjoyed learning how to make a cup of tea and writing the instructions.

L – I enjoyed doing the NYCOS daily lesson because it was a bit tricky and a bit easy. My favourite was Nima Naja.

S – I enjoyed the column addition and subtraction because I liked working them out. 😊

💜💓💛💙❤️ ELC

Good Morning ELC we hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend ?
This morning on my walk I found these keys I am not sure who they belong to or what door they might fit ! Maybe you can help me find the owner of the keys ? Do you have any ideas ?
Maybe you could draw a picture or find a story that would give us clues to finding the door they fit ?

Please share you ideas pictures and stories on your learning journals  and we can see who to return the keys to !
Have Fun 💜💙❤️💓💛

P3 Home Learning Wednesday 3.6.20

Good morning Primary 3. I hope you are all well and having a good week.

Here are your home learning activities and resources for today. There are lots of activities to keep you busy. You can record the the answers to the learning tasks in your jotter or on the sheets listed if you are able to print them.

Maths – We are continuing our learning about capacity. Remember capacity is the amount that a container can hold. Today we are learning about litres and millilitres. We use litres to measure larger capacities and millilitres to measure very small capacities (1000 millilitres = 1 litre).

Literacy –  Have a look at the power point to revise last week’s lesson about speech marks and complete the activities on the slides. You will need your jotter or a piece of paper for this task.

RME – Kindness handprint heart. This is a nice activity that you can do with your family.

French – Today we are learning how to say what we like to eat and don’t like to eat in French. Use the power point below to help you to complete the activity sheet.

Take care

Welcome to Learning at Home Week 9

I hope that you have all had a lovely weekend in the sunshine.

It’s hard to believe that we are now in June and haven’t been in our school building since March. For some of you it might be the case that Learning at Home is becoming harder even though you are more used to it by now. It might be hard to keep your motivation going, but it is really important to keep your brain cells active as much as you can. When you do some work that you are really proud of, or if you do an activity that you think other people would enjoy, please do send it to me and I can share it with everyone.

As always, here is the learning grid for Week 9 and all the other documents you might need.

P1 Sharing the learning 29.5.20

It has been a glorious week for weather and the P1s seem to have been making the most of it.  Having been out and about ourselves this week in the sun, we have also valued the time inside in the shade!

It has been great to see everybody and to catch up at a suitable social distance. We think you are doing an amazing job and are so impressed by the resilient attitude and the way we all find times of joy in this time of uncertainty.

Some of you have been happy to share your learning, whether it be through sit down learning or play learning:

Maths – Today we begin a new topic about capacity. Capacity is the amount that a container can hold. Please complete the  activities attached ‘Measuring capacity at home’.

Literacy – When do we use speech marks in writing? Speech marks are a piece of punctuation which go around the actual words that someone says. Have a look at the power point which explains this further and complete the activities on the slides. You will need your jotter or a piece of paper for this task.

French – Please play the bingo game with your family to revise the names of different food in French.  Also have a look at this video clip on youtube ‘Learn French with Alexa’ (Salty Food French).

RME – Complete the activity sheet ‘What makes me special’. You can draw or write in the bubbles or have a mixture of both.
