P3 Learning Reflection – 02.10.20
We’ve had another super week learning lots of new things in P3, here are our highlights:
Charley: “I’ve enjoyed doing counting on and back in maths. We did really challenging problems like 110 + 41 and 105 – 30. I loved solving them!”
Emma: “I liked finishing our space writing. I drew a picture of the moon and moon dust I saw and collected when I visited. I also liked learning a new dance.”
Ayden: “I liked our outdoor learning afternoon. I learned about alive and dead materials outside and we planted food to investigate after the holidays.”
Rory: “This week learned how to play rounders in PE. There are two teams, the batters and the fielders. I had to get people from the other team out because I was a fielder.”
Gabriel: “I enjoyed using the counting back strategy in maths. I solved 360 – 222. It was hard but I felt good when I did it.”
Poppy: “Last week we made our class charter. I made a planet to represent me. It had two rainbows on it and a ring round it like Saturn.”
Lois: “I liked doing my Home Learning at home. I get to share it in class next week and I’m really excited!”
Isaac: “I’ve been writing a book in Free Writing Friday. It’s about a monster who tries to catch someone but he hurts himself and another monster comes to eat him. That’s all I’ve got just now but I’m going to write more.”
Nicholas: “I enjoyed writing about space. I wrote about my space suit, the rocket and landing on the moon. I drew pictures of these too.”
Lewis: “I liked outdoor learning. We got to go outside school and into the woods. We were searching for dead things. I found a dead leaf.”
That’s all from us – have a lovely weekend!
P3 Weekly Learning Reflection – 25.09.20
It’s been a short but busy week in P3. Here are some of our learning highlights that we’d like to share with you…
Poppy: “I’ve been enjoying all the space activities. I liked learning about all the different planets and designing our space class charter.”
Kaelan: “We went to space! We built rockets with our bodies and we even opened the hatch and explored all the space around us!”
Euan: “I learnt how to do the counting back strategy in maths. I find it really easy now I’ve practiced. The last question was really hard but I managed to do it. The answer was 66.”
Austin: “I enjoyed doing the 4 way Hoop Hop challenge in P.E. this week. There was 4 teams and you had to make it over to another team. All of your team have to end up at another starting point.”
Ziva: “I found the Hoop Hop in P.E. fun. You had to make sure you didn’t go down the same lane as someone else so you have to be careful and make sure you look about.”
Gabriel: “We made Colour Monster emotion hands in art last week. Each finger was a different emotion.”
Leo: “I enjoyed writing about when we went to space. I liked going on the journey, we built a rocket in groups and blasted off together!”
Hiba: “I liked learning how to do the counting back strategy in maths. You have to draw a number line, the biggest number goes to the left and then you chunk the other number and take it away from the biggest number.”
Murdo: “I liked doing the Hoop Hop challenge in P.E. because it was really fun. It was a lot harder doing it 4 different ways.”
James: “I really liked going to space with the class. We built everything we needed with our bodies. We collected space dust and rocks to take back to earth with us.”

Euan: “We have been doing exciting things. I like doing spelling. We make words with playdoh to help us remember how to spell them.”
Murdo: “I have enjoyed doing art. I liked doing dot art, I made pattern with the dots. I also liked drawing numbers using Base 10 in the playground.”
Charley F: “I have enjoyed doing the dot art because it was fun. We learnt that you shouldn’t give up and you should keep trying!”
Charley B: “We wrote happiness and anger emotion poems. We used similes to help people picture what happiness and sadness look like.”
Sevinc: “I’ve liked coming back to school and seeing my friends. I’ve made lots of new friends too.”
Issac: “I enjoy doing Free Writing Friday. You can write about anything and you can draw a picture too. I’m writing a book just now.”
Lewis: “We are learning about place value in maths. We know about the place value chart that has thousands, hundreds, tens and units. You can put numbers under these and find out how much they’re worth.”
Kaelan: “I enjoyed Growth Mindset art. It helped my brain learn that practice makes perfect!”
Our PE days will be Monday and Wednesday.
As PE is outdoors at the moment, all children are asked to wear their outdoor kits to school on these days.
Outdoor PE kits should consist of joggers/tracksuit bottoms/leggings and school polo/white top. Please also send children with a jumper/jacket that they can wear outside if necessary. Children should wear outdoor shoes ( trainers) suitable for PE on these days.
Due to current circumstances children are unable to use school water fountains, so we ask that they bring extra water with them on these days.
Many Thanks
Miss Greig

Bonjour ma classe!
Well, here we are… the official last day of term! I wanted to take today to reflect on your amazing (and strange!) year as Primary 3. I have created a sway with photo’s to remember the good times. Just follow the link above which will take you there. I would love to hear from you and what your favourite moment of P3 was.
I will be heading in to school this morning to say goodbye to Primary 7. If you message or email me, I will get back to you later on once I am home.
All I can say for now is… I cannot wait to see you in August as P4! Enjoy these next few weeks and let the Summer holidays commence!
Take care of yourselves and stay safe.
