P.3 Thursday 21/5/20

Hello boys and girls, I hope everyone has had a good week and you are ready for Thursday’s home learning tasks.

Let’s start with something to make us move!

R.E.

For the next wee while in our religious studies we are going to look at celebrations and festivals. We are going to focus today on an important Christian celebration – a wedding. Have a look at the powerpoint.

Now draw a wedding scene. Remember to include all the main people, you can look back at the powerpoint for help. Label your picture so we know who each person is.

Literacy

I am learning to recognise a proper and common noun

I will know I am successful if I can identify proper nouns

This week we are going to have another wee look at nouns. There are two types of nouns – common nouns and proper nouns. Have a look at the following clip.

So people and places are proper nouns. Complete the following worksheet underlining the proper nouns with a coloured pencil. Remember to add a capital letter to the proper nouns if necessary.

Maths

We are continuing our work on fractions and are focusing on halves and quarters.

I am learning to recognise fractions of a shape.

I will know I am successful if I recognise a quarter and a half

Play the roll a fraction game. First you need to cut out the dice shape and then glue it to make a fraction dice. Then roll the dice and colour the appropriate fraction on the worksheet.
