Maths Week Scotland is just around the corner which means – Sumdog Competition time!

https://www.sumdog.com/user/sign_in
This competition is a fantastic way to compete against lots of other Primary students, have fun and develop numeracy/maths skills at the very same time. Your child has received a card which includes their unique username and password to keep safe at home. If you have any issues with accessing Sumdog or using the details on the card please do get in touch with the school office as we’d be more than happy to assist.
Your child may be set some questions which they whizz through at the start. Completing these will support them to answer appropriate questions during the Competition so please do hang in there and complete them!
Message from Ben Lomond
As part of our context for learning Ben Lomond Clan have planned and organised a fundraiser for 30th September to raise funds for Primary 7, this includes:
So far we have been very lucky that local businesses, including Linwater Caravan Park, Stirling Developments and Taylor Wimpey have also contributed to the Primary 7 fundraising.
On the day, the clans can take part in timetabled events which you can see in the poster below.
The suggested donations for some of the activities are:
If you would like to contribute, please remember to give your child some change on Friday 30th September – 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p,£1 (unfortunately no change can be given). Alternatively, you can make donations through iPay impact by clicking on funds and selecting P7 Fundraiser, this account will open on 22nd – 30th September.
On this day children can also dress down, (please remember no football tops or crop tops).
All children will have the opportunity to take part in the event, the suggestion of a donation is not compulsory.
Also, on the day we are offering a champion car wash. We would appreciate it, if you could follow any cones and signs placed in the playground on 30th September.
There is still the opportunity to donate any brik a brack until 26th September.
Please find below a copy of the home learning choice boards for Term 1. Our approach to home learning is flexible to ensure we met the needs of our families and children’s extra curricular activities, therefore the amount of tasks you complete are up to you as a family. The tasks are a mixture of online and discussion/ paper tasks. If children choose to share any of their home learning with their clan they can do this via their champion.
The tasks are also uploaded to Seesaw/ Teams. Children will bring home their log in cards this week, please ensure you keep these in a safe place.
You can find further information here:
Our Parent Council are currently setting up a working group to consult on our approaches to home learning to ensure we meet the needs of our families.

We would appreciate if children could leave Pokemon or football cards at home. There have been some incidents where children have lost them, have swapped cards (and then realised they didn’t want to swap them), etc. leading to them becoming upset. Thanks for your help in advance.
Today, across our clans we took some time to reflect on this moment in history and celebrate the life of Queen Elizabeth. Some clans made pictures of her, discussed what she did for the United Kingdom and beyond, wrote poems and reflected on her achievements.
Some of the older clans also watched a Newsround clip.
We have vacancies for lunch time supervisors to help indoors and outdoors at lunch times, these roles are vital to ensure we can keep all areas of our playground open for children to play in. The hours are 12:15-1:15pm, Monday to Thursday.
