Leven and Rannoch Clan Connects

This morning, Leven and Rannoch Clans came together to share their learning with their families and the rest of the school community through their Clan Connects.

The children told us all about Resilience and Growth Mindsets and the importance of thinking positively.  They did an amazing presentation and we are so proud of each and every one of our learners.

Leven and Rannoch Clans then spent some time with their adults, sharing more of their learning from the year so far.

Thank you to all parents and carers who were able to come along to support Leven and Rannoch Clans this morning.

House Meetings

On Friday morning, all pupils across the school came together in their House groups for our first House Meeting of 2025!

Following on from our Connects on values, the pupils looked at each value and discussed what they might look like, sound like and feel like.

It was great to hear pupil voice and see our values of Caring, Integrity, Resilience and Belonging in action.

Road Safety:

  • As you will be aware, the roads and traffic around our school can be busy, particularly at key points of the school and ELC day. We encourage families to walk to and from school, where possible. Where driving to school is unavoidable, please be mindful of other road users and pedestrians when moving through our community, and when stopping to drop children off at school. Every child’s safety is of paramount importance and is essential that we continue to work together to ensure all of our children arrive at and leave safely from school
  • In school, we are launching a road safety focus beginning on 20th January 2025, as well as beginning to work on our Park Smart campaign. Throughout our initial launch week, your child will engage in a range of experiences to support their road safety awareness. We will also have an opportunity for every child to contribute an image to be included in our Park Smart banners which will be produced later this term.

Calderwood Compliments:

  • Thank you so much to the Calderwood Community Services team, who put salt down in the playground earlier in the week.

Rannoch – Christmas Party

Rannoch Clan had a fabulous time at their Christmas party this week. The children danced and sang along to their favourite Christmas songs and played some different festive games. We played Christmas corners, pass the parcel and even had a best dancer competition! It was a lovely, fun afternoon to celebrate the festive season as a clan.

Jingle Bell Blast at Burns Clan

Christmas Party

This week Burns had lots of fun at their Christmas party on Wednesday. We played lots of fun games such as musical chairs and musical statues. We also got a yummy festive snack at our party too! This gave us lots of energy for all the dancing we did!

Pinocchio Pantomime

On Wednesday afternoon we had a pantomime which was a twist on the story of Pinocchio. We demonstrated being a fantastic quality audience as we sat sensibly throughout the show and engaged.  We had so much fun at the pantomime and loved helping Pinocchio out. After the pantomime we reflected on the main takeaway from the story – the importance of believing in yourself. We explored the impact that determination and believing in yourself has on your wellbeing and achievements.
