Tummel

We have had a wonderful time getting to know each other in Tummel Clan!

As we begin to build our clan community, we explored the story “Our Clan is a Family” and discussed its meaning. We agreed that our clan room should be a safe place where everyone feels confident to be themselves and make mistakes. We recognised that we each have similarities but that we are all unique and should respect each other’s differences. We talked about what makes a good friend and had fun creating friendship bracelets for those closest to us!

Ben Lomond

Throughout the first two weeks of school, Ben Lomond clan have been busy exploring the school building and our new Clan Room.

We delved into the book ‘Our Clan is a Family,’ which inspired us to play games that help us identify what connects us, what makes us different, and what makes us a team. We also made displays to reflect this and to decorate our new home. We enjoyed engaging in STEM challenges to further develop our teamwork skills.

In addition, we located Ben Lomond on a map and considered the activities we could do there and the animals that live there. We used this information to create unique table names including ‘Loch Porpoises’, ‘Highland Golden Eagles’, Wind-Surfing Sea Birds’ and ‘Fresh Water Otters’. We look forward to exploring this further through our new IDL topic.

MacKintosh and Muir: Chiefs, Captains and Careers

What a busy return to Calderwood our amazing children in MacKintosh and Muir have had!

We want to thank all the children who worked incredibly hard and completed applications for Calderwood Chiefs. We are delighted to announce that after 11 amazing interviews we have announced our four (yes four!) Calderwood Chiefs.

We have held in Clan Calderwood House and Vice-Captain presentations (on Friday 23rd August) and cannot wait for our children to present to their respective houses on Friday 30th August. Good luck to all involved.

If your child feels they really want to give back to our school community but don’t feel comfortable presenting to large numbers of children, they are most welcome to sign up to a Calderwood Career using the link below:

Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond Leavers’ Celebration

Our Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond clans came together on the morning of the 26th June to celebrate their time at Primary School with their families.

The children chose to do an “Oscars” themed celebration and shared successes and achievements through giving each other awards.

Thank you to our Parent Council, who funded the gift of a personalised keyring for every child in Ben Lawers and Ben Lomond – we really appreciate this gesture.

The children gave a fantastic performance for their final Connects and we wish them the best of luck as they move on to High School!

Saving Seesaw Profiles: Primary 1-Primary 3

As Primary 3s move into Primary 4 they will no longer to use Seesaw but will move to Teams, it will take them a few weeks of training on how to use Teams before they start to use it as a journal.

For families who where at Calderwood Primary in 2022-23 we will archive those clans on Friday 19th July. This means you have 25 days to download their journal from their previous clan. You need access to a netbook, laptop or computer to do this and can do this as explained below:

  • Tap profile in top left
  • Account settings
  • Scroll down to the bottom and click download archived journal
Or:
  • You should be able to highlight all the files
