Communication: If you are requiring to speak to a member of the senior leadership team, it is important your messages reaches the correct member of staff. Please email or phone the office, ensuring you let them know your child’s clan, so the correct person can get back in touch. Our communication approaches are here.

House Meeting: Last week we had a house meeting with a focus on our learning environment, you can find out more information here.
End of Day Pick-Up Reminder (P1): Our Primary 1 team would kindly ask that if you wish to speak with your child’s teacher at the end of the school day, you wait outside the cloakroom area rather than entering the cloakroom itself. This allows staff to safely support the last children as they collect their belongings and leave the building. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Medication Reminder: To help ensure the safe administration of medication in school, please do not place medication in your child’s school bag. Any medication should be handed directly to the school office by an adult. Where possible, please also provide details of the time and amount of the last dosage given. Thank you for helping us keep our children safe.

Our Primary 7 Clans had the opportunity to visit Dalguise for 3 days. They had a fantastic time and were a huge credit to Calderwood, with many compliments from the Dalguise staff. You can find some photos here, and we will continue to upload more. A huge thank you to all the champions who gave up their own time to attend and support the running of the residential.

Rights Respecting Update

Calderwood Primary recognises the rights of the child and is currently on a journey to embed the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of Child (UNCRC) throughout the school.

UNICEF has a Rights Respecting Schools Award which puts children’s rights at the heart of school life in the UK and allows schools to demonstrate all the ways that they already celebrate children’s rights. Calderwood achieved the Bronze Award in 2023 and are currently working towards becoming a Silver Rights Respecting School.

*01/10/26: 2:00-3:00pm: Clan Connects: Perth:An opportunity for your children to share on stage their learning in the Arena and then you can look at their jotters in the café. 2 adults per child. Please enter through the front doors at 2:00pm, starts at 2:10pm.
06/10/2026: Tempest School Photo Day: School uniform and no PE Kits. P7s to wear white shirts, we can lend ties to those who would like to borrow one. (We are awaiting confirmation from Tempest as to whether the family photos are on 6^th or 7^th).
07/10/26-08/10/26: Champion Conversations (Parent/ carer consultations): Please ensure you have pre booked an appointment, the link has been emailed to you. Jotters will be available and the Scholastic book fayre (phone required for purchases).
16/10/26-27/10/26: School closes at 12:00pm on 16/10/26 and reopens on 27/10/26.

Primary 7 Cross Country Success: A group of our P7 pupils took part in a cross-country event, completing an impressive 1.2km run. It was fantastic to see the determination, resilience and effort shown by every member of the team, and we are incredibly proud of them all. You can find out more information here.
