• Apologises for calendar updates and the changes. School life is busy and we can’t always foresee all events that will take happen over the term. Changes to the original calendar have been highlighted in yellow and we have the date at the top so you know which is the latest version. Calendar link

• 27^th January: Calderwood Scottish Poetry Recital: Clan Competition: Children have the opportunity to recite a poem in their clan and the clan vote for the clan champion. You can find out more information here.

• 3^rd February: Calderwood Scottish Poetry Recital: Clan Winners: Clan Champions recite their poems to a panel, panel decide on an early level (P1), first level (P2-4) and second level (P5-7) winner. Invites will be sent home.

• 9^th February: 6:00pm or 6:40pm: Caledonia Clan Celebration

• Calderwood Cares: You will find our positive relationships policy here. There is also the opportunity to provide some feedback.
• We have had some further reports of head lice in clans, please find some information on the signs of head lice and how to treat it here.
• Those children who have been offered an afterschool club will have received a letter in their school bag this week.
• A huge congratulations to Mrs Love on the arrival of baby Emma, we are very excited to meet her.
• Ms Henderson will join our office champ team on 20^th February, we look forward to welcoming her to our champion team.

• West Lothian Council Uniform encourages children not to wear clothing or accessorises that encourages rivalry, with this is mind, we would request that children don’t have football team accessories in school.

• 23^rd January: Nursery Photo Day: If your school child has a sibling in the nursery they will have the opportunity for a family photo on this day. Please ensure they do not wear P.E kit.
• 24^th January: Learning Letters and Home Grids will be emailed to families.

• P4-P7 pupils have the opportunity to apply for a Calderwood Career, they can do this in clan or at home by using this link.
• We are looking for suggestions from parents/carers on what new reading texts we can purchase using the Scholastic Book Fayre money. You can add your choices here. The children also have the opportunity to contribute during clan time.

• Mr Black and Miss McAlear, will join our pupil support worker, champion team on Monday. We look forward to our champ team expanding! We are also currently recruiting for a further clerical assistant to support in our school and nursery offices.

Calderwood Compliments: 

• Robertson Homes and Age Scotland, Competition Winner.
• At the end of last term, Thistle Clan raised £74.06 for Children in Need, Cancer Research and Sick Kids, by organising a bake sale. Well done Thistle Clan!
• This week we had auditions for our first ever Calderwood Glee Club, a huge well done to everyone who tried out for the club.

Happy New Year! One week in and it feels like we have never been away from our Calderwood home. It has been lovely to start the new year, with new families joining us. We have had a smooth transition back to Calderwood life and next week, we look forward to all our interventions timetables fully starting, ensuring we support and challenge all of our children.
