Homework

From Monday we will be posting homework for all classes on the blog. P4-7 pupils will still be able to access it and post their work on Teams. P1-3 pupils will be able to share their homework on Learning Journals or by email.

Our homework will consist of activities to support our pupils’ learning and apply the skills they have been learning in school.

Welcome Back to School!

‘We are really looking forward to welcoming our children back to our Primary School and Early Learning Centre.
In case you may have missed them, please click on the links below for our return to school newsletters for our Primary and Nursery children which were sent out last week.
These detail the process for the children’s return to school and the procedures we have in place in response to COVID 19.
It’s been a while but we cannot wait to see you all!

Join Buddy and Special Guests at the NSPCC’s ‘Speak Out, Stay Safe’ Assembly

https://www.facebook.com/nspcc/?utm_source=Virtual-Assembly&utm_medium=Facebook&utm_campaign=202005_SOSS

Join Ant and Dec, David Walliams, and Sally from the NSPCC’s Schools Service for a special assembly.  Featuring highlights from the hugely popular Speak out Stay safe programme, the assembly will help children understand what’s going on, why they may be feeling anxious or worried, and where to get help if they need it.

We know that many children are struggling with increased anxiety because of the coronavirus pandemic – whether they’re missing friends, stressed about schoolwork or concerned about their family’s safety. And for parents and carers, it can be tough to start a conversation about these worries.

This assembly will help children understand the huge changes in their lives. There will even be a Q&A session with Vicky Ford MP, Minister for Children and Families, featuring questions from children.

The following resources may be of help to you, during these difficult times:

There is an information book explaining Coronavirus to children.

Also included is an ‘anxiety toolkit’. This includes resources for parents and carers, and children, to help manage anxiety and improve well being during the coronavirus crisis. You will find practical activities such as mindful crafts, breathing exercises and other self-care ideas, informative videos, emotional expression worksheets and helpful strategies to address anxiety.

Finally, I have attached an ‘anxiety social story’ and one that explains  Coronavirus to children.
