Today our gymnastics team attended the Active Schools competition at Craigswood Sports Centre. Many schools from across West Lothian were in attendance and our children really gave a good account of themselves, both in their performance and the way they conducted themselves throughout.
All gymnasts have been working hard on their routines during the afterschool club and at home and their work paid off as they delivered a great performance on the vault and in their floor routines. The judges were all impressed with the standard of our competitors this year, with Sophie in P5 winning a Silver Medal in the Level 2 category – what an achievement!
Well done to all the children who took part today – you did yourselves proud!
On Wednesday night, Bellsquarry choir which comprises of pupils from P5, 6 and 7, entertained local residents at their annual Christmas dinner in the village hall. The choir were led by Mrs England our music specialist. The choir sang a medley of Christmas songs and everyone said they really enjoyed the performance. The village hall committee gave all the children sweets as a thank you.
Here are a few things we have done over the past few weeks!
Primary 7 planned and prepared a Burns Supper. They got to invite one guest and they even got to have some Haggis, neeps and tatties! They performed many different talents such as poetry, dance, art work, music, and comedy. They also performed Scottish songs such as Loch Lomond and Caledonia. It was an amazing night and everyone enjoyed it.
