Bellsquarry Primary School

Life on Planet 7

Life in Primary 7 has, as usual, been one of challenging work, productive dialogue and full on planning and preparation.

In Numeracy, we’ve been looking at everyday problem solving-related questions and applying our skills, knowledge and understanding.  We also found out that Mr Hunter ate a 250g jar of Nutella when making up one of our problems!

In Literacy, we’re writing poems in the style of Burns, using everyday objects, such as dogs, sheep, haggis and whisky, as our stimuli.  When they are all complete, we’re planning to type them up and create a class book showing all our poems.

Talking about planning and preparation, we’ve also been hard at work preparing for our Burns Supper this Thursday.  We’ve been laminating place mats, printing off menus, counting tartan place mats, making name plates for our attendees and creating a seating arrangement so all of us and our invited guests can fit into the gym hall.  We’ve also a few surprises along the way…………….  Here’s a sneak preview.
