Christmas in Ochiltree

Ochiltree have been busy Elves over the last couple of weeks – having fun and working hard.

We all enjoyed our Christmas crafts and artwork that we worked hard on although really enjoyed looking at all our pictures while putting the calendar together.

We also enjoyed the pantomime despite it being virtual it was like we were there!

Our Christmas party was really fun – we enjoyed playing pass the parcel, corners game and dancing to party music before Santa came to visit and give us all a gift.

Despite everything that is going on in the world around us we have not let it dampen our spirits in Ochiltree!

MERRY CHRISTMAS from all your friends in Ochiltree. xx

Ochiltree Term 1

Can you believe that it is time for a holiday again! It has been a very quick term and extremely busy. We are not complaining though and have been so happy to be in work and supporting the children here in school.

As you know we have been enjoying the topic of ‘Storyland’ this term and have had the opportunity to listen and explore the stories: Poo in the Zoo, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Elmer and There’s a Dragon in my Book. It is hard to say but I think our favourite has been ‘There’s a Dragon in my Book’.

We are also enjoying getting outside for lots of different activities making the most of getting some fresh air before it gets too miserable over the winter months. We go for a walk/cycle every couple of days and go out to the playground every day as well as gardening once a week and some outdoor learning when Catherine is in. Catherine has given everyone lots of different sensory experiences looking and using natural resources from the local environment to make perfume from flowers and also some baking with rhubarb from the garden and apples picked from a tree from a very kind neighbour.

Although we are not getting to move around the school as much as we would like we are still managing to hold a virtual assembly with Duntarvie every week and the children love seeing their friends on screen and participate in Fischy Music. Gordon and Aisling are also providing music activities weekly and this is a favourite of everybody in the class especially when we get to play some instruments.

It was fantastic to talk with some of you for our consultations it is just unfortunate we cannot meet in person at the moment but hopefully the day will come before the end of the school session! Fingers crossed you are all able to enjoy a holiday with some freedom and recharge the batteries for Term 2. Maybe get in some walking ready for our sponsored walk!

Ochiltree 2020 – 2021

It is so nice to be back at school and to see everyone who is in Ochiltree this year. We are not seeing too much of anyone else in the school at the moment but hopefully in time we will be able to get together soon.

I hope you all managed to have some kind of summer holiday and enjoyed your time together as a family.

The Ochiltree family has already had a few changes but for the moment the class team consists of:

Sandra (Class Teacher) and Catherine (Teacher), Anna, Gina, Shonet and Jacqueline who are all enjoying supporting and encouraging  Luca, Aria, William, Stanley, Rylie and Vanessa.

We have been having a busy start to the term participating and experiencing different activities – Making our Class Charter and our Birthday Display as well as starting our Whole School Topic ‘Story Land’.

It has been great fun and we have enjoyed the stories: ‘Poo in the Zoo’ and ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. There are more stories to come so we are looking forward to what is next.

Have a look at some of the photos of what we have been up to.
