Pupil Council children met to discuss plans to develop our woodlands in our school as well as in our community at Meikle Burn.
Group: Pupil Council
Date: 30th March 2022
Points from previous meeting:
· After meeting Chatelherault Rangers, we are going to look at developing out own woodlands within the school grounds. · We will still aim to organise litter pick and site visit to Meikle Burn site to contribute to our community. |
Main discussion points from today:
· Mr Gilligan fed back main points from meeting with Mike (Chatelherault Park Ranger). · Due to amount of work involved we would need multiple visits to Meikle Burn site, we are going to begin focussing on our own woodlands on school grounds to develop within our immediate community. · We will look at our woods to see what issues we have and generate ideas on how to develop our woodlands. · These ideas will be discussed at next meeting and we will begin to look at costs. |
Focus Article:
Article 29: A child or young person’s education should help their mind, body and talents be the best they can. It should also build their respect for other people and the world around them. |
