We have been trying out different activities for practicing our spelling words to try and make it a bit more exciting. One of our favourite ways to do this has been writing them in chalk outside. Here are some photos:

Our first ever John Muir trip was very fun! We went to Fladdabister. Some of our favourite parts were:
We would love to go again! Thank you John and Miss Newbold for coming with us!
Whilst Primary 6 have been away doing Bikeability, P7 have been spending some time with their buddies who are now in P1. They come through to P7 with us on a Monday morning. We have been reading them stories, exploring the school through scavenger hunts, and looking at different phonics sounds they have been learning in P1. So far we have looked at “O”, “S” and “A”. We wrote stories with them and researched their favourite animals. We even showed them “the Wiggle Dance” which is our new favourite brain break activity. Next term the P6s will be away for playleader training so we will get to see them again.

There was great excitement this morning when we received some post from America. Last term, we decided to write letters to an astronaut as part of our Space topic. Today, we received our first response! There was a signed photo and lots of information about being an astronaut. Thank you, NASA!
We had such a busy day selling all our products as part of our Enterprise project. After taking away all of our initial costs, we made a grand total of £361.36! We are already planning an exciting end of term treat and considering some charities we might like to donate to. Thank you again for supporting us in this venture!
Some more photos of our fantastic trip to Mousa
What a fantastic day we’ve had at Mousa! We had a walk around the island before stopping along the broch. We enjoyed exploring the broch and some of us were brave enough to clamber all the way to the top. On the way back, we had a fantastic tour along the shore and heard lots of stories from Shetland’s past. We’d like to thank the crew of the Mousa boat for taking us to and from the island and sharing your stories and vast amount of knowledge with us. A great way to bring our learning to life.
Yesterday, we started a new topic of fractions during our Maths lesson. We moved around the classroom completing practical activities to share what we know about fractions already. Fraction Connect 4 was certainly a big favourite!
