Thank you to parents for continuing to work together with the school to ensure the safety of all our young people on snowy days.
How do I find out if the school is closed?
Shetland Islands Council webpage at http://www.shetland.gov.uk/adverseweather and SIC Facebook will display the list of schools closed and transport arrangements.
For information on School Transport call the SIC Voicebank on 01595 745743.
For information on Public Transport call SIC Voicebank on 01595 745744.
SIBC, a 24 hour radio station, will provide regular local information up-dates. They also have a Twitter feed.
BBC Radio Scotland, at 6.50am and 7.20am, will provide local information.
We will try to update our school Facebook page and school website, www.anderson.shetland.sch.uk, carrying news of our closure as early as possible, although this is network dependent.
Please remember that the decision to send your child to school is ultimately yours.
What about home study when the school is closed?
- Work will usually be set on Microsoft Teams. Pupils have been advised on how to access this work.
- Teachers have spoken with pupils about work they can get on with at home, if they cannot attend school due to the weather (including revision, useful websites, summarizing notes and reading).
