P7 home learning tasks for Friday 5th June

Good morning and Happy Friday!

Bitmoji Image

I hope you had a good day yesterday and enjoyed seeing the staff from St. Andrew’s on both the transition sport’s day slides and Ms. Irvine on the TEAM Meet. I had never met Ms. Irvine before but she was on the phone for a while and sounded so friendly and funny. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to get on the meeting as well but thought it was much more important you got to meet Ms. Irvine. We can arrange another one for next week 🙂

Enjoy your tasks for today. I cannot wait to read some of your writing pieces about our NHS keyworkers.
A fun wee art task/craft for you to do today too (with the help of an adult). Remember to upload your tasks and let me see your progress.

P7 home learning tasks for Thursday 4th June 2020

Good morning children…

No lesson plan today as you have two tasks to do that will take up a good bit of your time.

Task no 1: St. Andrew’s staff have worked very hard on a ‘Transition Sport’s Day’ which is being launched and going out to all schools today… all pupils which will be in your year if you’re attending St. Andrew’s! (Hope and Zara you can do this too as it’s fun, exercise and also good to have a nosey. I’m also going to send you an email with files from St. Benedict’s so check your GLOW).
So the sport’s day slide features bitmojis of different staff you will meet when you begin in St. Andrew’s in August. If you click on the exercises beside them you will be able to view a video of them doing a particular challenge which you can then do. Click on the link on GOOGLE classroom to access this. I’ll also email it to your GLOW.

Task no 2: Tomorrow at 2 o’clock we will have a TEAM MEET with Mrs McManus and Ms. Irvine (a teacher from St. Andrew’s). Please make sure you attend this meeting, you don’t need to speak but it really will be extremely useful for you to listen to what Ms Irvine has to say about you joining St. Andrew’s. If you have any questions write these down so that you can ask them during the meet. I will put an announcement on Facebook/Twitter to let your parents know that this is happening, they are more than welcome to sit with you and hear the information too.

Speak to you soon,
Mrs McDougall

Parent Information – Emotion Works

Helping your child cope with their emotions at home

At St. Fergus’ Primary, we adopt a whole school approach to emotions awareness and regulation called Emotion Works. Your child/children have had lots of input on this and should be aware of each cog and what it means.

Emotion Works helps your child to understand why they feel particular emotions and be able to relate these emotions to a trigger (cause) and find a way to calm down and self-regulate. Expectedly, with the current ongoing situation, everyone will be feeling a range of emotions on a daily basis. We hope this flier will be useful to you in helping to keep your child/children calm in what is an uncertain and strange time for us all. It will also promote positive continuity and a recognisable vocabulary since this is what we promote in St. Fergus’.
