We are learning about re-telling a story by thinking about the main thing that happened at the BEGINNING, MIDDLE and END of the story. Talk about this when you are reading with your child and ask them to re-tell you the story at the end. Make sure it is in order and has all the important event.

We will be revising the last two weeks words (then, them, with, see, now, for).
Choose how you want to practise them (waterfall/choo-choo/rainbow/small or capital/sentence writing).
Handwriting
Practise these letters in small and capital letters – bB, hH, kK..
Make sure you are starting at the correct place and forming each letter in the correct direction.
Do a whole row of each letter.
Maths
We are continuing to count on and back in tens. Use your number square, choose a number and count on 10. Where do you land? Start at your first number – count back 10. Where do you land? Do lots of oral work with different numbers before trying some examples like the one in the picture.

We had a visit from Linda from Warburtons to teach us about healthy food and how to handle food hygenically. We used whole meal bread and spread a little butter on it before choosing different healthy fillings for our sandwiches. We got to try new foods we hadn’t tasted before and everyone ate every bite including the crusts! It was delicious!

Today we were in the Learning Zone. We used the construction materials to build ‘sh’ words, created a ‘sh’ picture, made ‘sh’ words using the word wheel, played games with the 100 square, played odd and even games using the I-pads and played in the house and the post office. We all had a great time and enjoyed our learning – it was fun!
