Sounds

This week’s sound is ‘ee’ (see, tree, sweet etc). Practise reading the ‘ee’ words stuck at the back of your homework jotter. Can you find any of these words in a reading or story book?

Try this game; http://www.galacticphonics.com/longvowels/ee/interactive/eespell/eespell.htm

 Common Words

Practise reading all the common words from your word list and word wall highlighted in purple.

Reading

We have been learning about how to find information from the story. Continue to read the books in your ‘Read, Write and Count’ bag. Ask questions about the story and ask your child to find the page and the words that tell you the answer.

 Spelling

This week’s words are;

he, she, we.

Write each word in a different colour of pen or pencil in ‘choo-choo’ writing (like a train’s carriages). For example;

she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she-she How many words can you fit along the page?

 Maths

We have been learning to add numbers and all the ways to split that number eg 5 can be split into 4+1 and its reversal 1+4. Use objects to help you (sweets, pasta, marbles etc). How many other ways can you split it? Draw the pictures and write the answers in your jotter. Here is an example;

NATIVITY

This year the primary 2’s will be singing ‘Beauty with a bell’. We will be cows in the stable and most of their costume will be provided. Please bring in black trousers or leggings in a bag with your child’s name on the bag and trousers by this Friday (8th December). If the boys have black school trousers they wear as part of their uniform  there is no need to provide another pair as they will be wearing them. Thank you.
