We enjoyed a Christmas movie today while eating some snacks. We also danced to Christmas music outdoors and made Christmas stockings and Christmas tree pictures. We then enjoyed watching ourselves as well as the other classes perform their Christmas Makaton songs as part of the Virtual Christmas Show.  I hope all the parents enjoyed watching it too and it brought some Christmas cheer to you all.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and thank you all for your continued support over the past few months.

We had great fun today at our Christmas party. We played party games and danced outdoors, made Christmas pictures, watched a festive film and enjoyed delicious party food and drink.

Well done to our Star Pupil for this week.

Tomorrow is our Christmas party/activity day where we will be doing lots of fun Christmas things. The children can come to school dressed in their party clothes.

We have been keeping active by playing some outdoor games and learning more about symmetry.

We made our reindeer antlers for the Reindeer Dash.

We made dreidels last week and used them today to play the game of dreidel which Jewish children do as part of the Hanukkah celebrations.

A reminder that tomorrow is our Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper day. We will also be taking  part in the Reindeer Dash which will help raise money for CHAS. The children do not need to bring any money as the school will give a donation on their behalf. The children can come to school wearing their Christmas jumper if they like.

We used our mirrors to check we were making our butterfly pictures symmetrical. We also printed Christmas wrapping paper in a symmetrical design.

We learned about symmetry today. We know both sides of a picture, shape or object must be an exact match or a mirror image of one another. We drew symmetrical pictures and marked on the line of symmetry.

We learned all about how Jewish people celebrate Hanukkah by lighting their menorah each night to remember the miracle of when the menorah burned for 8 days when there was only enough oil for one day.

We also wrote a letter to Santa telling him all about how good we have been and asking him if he could try and bring us some presents.
