Common Words

Practise reading all the common words from your word list and word wall highlighted in purple.

Reading

We are learning about re-telling a story by thinking about the main thing that happened at the BEGINNING, MIDDLE and END of the story. Talk about this when you are reading with your child and draw a three part picture of the main event at the beginning, middle and end.

Spelling

This week’s words are;

see, for, now.

Write each word in a different colour of pen or pencil in ‘choo-choo’ writing (like a train’s carriages). For example;

see-see-see-see-see-see-see-see-see-see-see

How many words can you fit along the page?

Handwriting

Practise these letters in small and capital letters – oO, qQ, sS.

Make sure you are starting at the correct place and forming each letter in the correct direction.

Do a whole row of each letter.

Maths

We are learning about counting on and back in 10’s, as well as 10 more and 10 less. Use your number square to count. Start with the ten numbers (10, 20, 30 etc) and count on ten. Where do you land? Choose a different number and count on 10. Where do you land? Do the same but count back 10. Do lots of oral examples before writing answers down.

Try any number within 100 and try some examples like the one in this picture. Write your answers in your jotter.
