Practise reading your ‘e-e’ words from your sound booklet.

How many words with each sound can you find in a story?

Common Words

Practise from your word wall – because, best, blue, book, bring, call.

Practise any words in your wallet if you have them.

 Spelling

Can you write each word in waterfall writing?

Reading

Practise your book each night. Look for any common words or spelling words.

Maths

Keep working through ‘Sumdog’.

Do some mental adding sums in your head like this.

4 + ? = 7     5 + ? = 10    6 + ? = 9 etc.  Try some up to 10. If you can, try bigger adding sums in your head.

We have been busy this week making lots of things to sell at the Christmas Fair. We made reindeer noses, gingerbread men cookies and snowmen lollipops to sell.

Why not come along tomorrow, Saturday 24th November from 10am to 12 noon. There will lots of fun things to do and Christmas presents to buy. You never know Santa might pay us a visit too!

Scottish Book Week

This week is Scottish book week. The children have been given a ‘Read, Write and Count’ bag home today. There are lots of good activities for literacy and numeracy to complete. Enjoy using them.

Sounds

Tuesday/Wednesday – Revise ay,  ai and a-e sound booklet.

Thursday/Friday – revise ‘ea’ sound booklet.

How many words with each sound can you find in a story?

Revise – after, again, always, another, ask, away.

Practise any words in your wallet if you have them.

 Spelling

Can you write a story or a sentence using as many of these spelling words as you can?

Sounds – ‘a-e ‘ booklet. Can you find words with this sound in a book?

Spelling – then, them, with. Write a sentence with each word.

Reading – read and discuss what is happening. ask questions to check understanding. Can you find where it tells you in the book?

Handwriting – practise small and capital letters – bB, hH, kK, mM, nN, pP and rR.

Maths – 2-D shapes (square, triangle, rectangle, circle). Draw a shape picture and bring it in to show and tell.

3-D shapes – sphere, pyramid, cone, cube, cuboid, cylinder). Go on a shape hunt in your house. Can you find things the same shape? Take photos and bring them in to show and tell.
