What a great trip we had to Briarlands Farm last week. The weather held out for most of the day and the children were all exhausted by the end of the day!

Maths
We have been working on counting out an even number up to 20 and grouping them into 2’s. Use small objects or coins and count out an even number. How many groups of 2 can you make? Draw and write a number story to match (5 groups of 2 is ?).
We have also been sharing out an even number into 2 groups. Count out an even number and share out one at a time into 2 lots. Do lots of examples using sweets, coins toys etc. Can your child see that sharing into 2 groups is the same as halving the number?
Sounds
This week’s sound is ‘ff’ (stuff, cliff, sniff). Can you find the ‘ff’ sound anywhere?
This year’s summer show has an Abba theme and is called ‘Bjorn This Way’.
It will be performed on the afternoon of Tuesday 18th June at 1.15pm and on the evening of Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June at 7pm. The children should be brought back to school on both evenings at 6.30pm so they can get changed into their costumes.
The school will provide a t-shirt/ outfit and the children should come dressed in either black school trousers, leggings for the girls or jeans if that is not possible. We may use a little face make up so please advise the school if your child may be allergic. If the girls wish to use their own make up then they can come ready made up for the evening shows, or wear accessories if they have them.

Ask questions like – What do you think will happen next? Why did the character do/say that? How did they feel? Why? What happened at the beginning/middle/end of the story? Can you tell me the story again yourself?
