This week we began reading some new novels in Literacy. Some of us are reading The Invisible Dog and some of us are reading Kaspar Prince of Cats. We are enjoying the activities we have been doing with them so far. We continued our Recount genre in Story Writing, we wrote about a short clip we had watched.

In Maths we looked at different time zones around the world. We also began to look at measure and the things we measure in our lives.

On Monday Mrs McCann invited us to her Primary 1 class as they were looking for some help making play dough. We really enjoyed helping them with the instructions we had made.

For Topic we learned about Ocean food chains, we looked at the smallest cells in the Ocean and how they are created.

We learned about why we wear poppies in November, we know it’s to remember all those who lost their lives in the First World War. We then made our own poppies from the bottom of bottles.

Some of us were very excited to bring home our Christmas cushions this week.

Next week we are excited to attend Mass on Wednesday as their are some special visitors called The Franciscan Brothers coming on a mission to Holy Cross all the way from the Bronx in the USA. We hope to see you there too.

Have a great weekend,

Miss Fitzgerald and Primary 5h
