We’ve a had a very busy week in P4/3!
Primary 4 have been introduced to the 6 reading strategies. Ask us all about them – Prior Knowledge, Metalingustics, Visualisation, Inference, Main Ideas and Summary. These strategies help us to understand what we are reading a whole lot more. Primary 3 have been working on their comprehension skills using their book ‘Dragon Boy’. We are really enjoying this chapter book.
Primary 4 have been looking at arrays in Maths to help them with their multiplication skills. Primary 3 have been using a hundred square to add and subtract. They are finding tricks and short cuts along the way.
Our Rainforest topic is very interesting. We have been learning about the 4 layers of a rainforest and how very different they are.
In Art we have been learning about the artist Robert Delaunay and how he uses bold colours, as well as simple shapes to make his famous work. We used circles and bold paint colours to make our own paintings using Delaunay’s technique. We hope you enjoy looking at these on the open night on Thursday!
Have a great weekend everyone!
