Falkirk Junior Gaelic Choir

Falkirk Junior Gaelic Choir were particularly successful at the Royal National Mod in Lochaber this year.  A number of GHS pupils were involved in this accomplished choir.  They received the following awards at the Mod:

 

Gold – Two-part harmony

Gold – Puirt a beul

Bronze – Unison

Royal National Mod Lochaber 2017

We would like to congratulate all of our pupils who participated in the Royal National Mod in Lochaber last week.  We had a number of very successful individuals, as well as pupils who performed in the Falkirk Junior Gaelic Choir.

Drama Group Award

On Thursday 12th October, Greenfaulds High School Gaelic Drama Group won the award for Gaelic at a CLD Celebration of Learning event.

Both pupils and ex-pupils attended the event to receive their award.

Well done to the drama group and everyone else involved!

Lan Comas Trad Award Nomination

The Scots Trad Music Awards nominations are currently open, however close on Friday 13th October.

Our music group, Lan Comas, can be nominated in the Best Community Project category and we would appreciate it if you could nominate them by following the link below and inserting “Lan Comas (Greenfaulds High School)” in the Community Project of the Year category.

Glasgow University 4 Oct 2017

S1 and S2 pupils from Greenfaulds High School visited Glasgow University along with pupils from Condorrat Primary School this morning as part of the week celebrating 20 years of Gaelic Medium Education at Condorrat Primary School.  Pupils participated in a presentation about the University, viewed a film produced by University students and enjoyed a short tour of the main building.

Meet Your Neighbours Event

On Saturday 7th October, Ava Mackinnon will represent Greenfaulds High School at a multi-cultural event hosted by Voluntary Action North Lanarkshire.

Ava will sing in Gaelic at this event from 12pm-12.15pm.

This event gives us the opportunity to celebrate the diversity of cultures to be found within North Lanarkshire.

S1/S2 Visit to Condorrat Primary School

S1 and S2 Gaelic speaking pupils at Greenfaulds High School have been invited to attend an event at the Condorrat Primary School on Friday 6th October.  This year we celebrate 20 years of Gaelic education at Condorrat Primary School and this event consists of a concert to commemorate this.  Some of our pupils are going to perform at this event, which will be filmed by BBC Alba.
