Libraries Week 2018

To celebrate Libraries Week 2018 school staff were asked to nominate a book of their choice for pupils to read. So many staff got in touch with their recommendations which ranged from Roald Dahl to ‘A Clockwork Orange’. Staff were then asked to point out their choice to pupils and were given posters of their book choice to hang on their door or near their desk. All with the aim of promoting libraries and advocating that everyone reads – not just the librarian!

Below is a power point which details each staff member’s book recommendation.

Staff Reading Recommendations 2018

Pupils also celebrated Libraries Week 2018 by taking part in a series of podcasts discussing their own book recommendations, why young people should read, why some of their peers don’t read, and the importance of having a library in a secondary school.
