Book Week Scotland

In November 2021 our celebrations for Book Week Scotland were led by our two S4 Literacy Ambassadors. The ambassadors devised a ‘Golden Ticket’ competition to encourage lower school pupils to choose a book either set in Scotland or written by a Scottish author.

Inside some of our Scottish Junior Fiction books pupils would find a ‘Golden Ticket’ that entitled them to a merit from their English teacher and a chocolate bar.

Alongside this competition, all of lower school received a genre taster on Scottish books during their library period.

Whilst S1 pupils could sign up to an author’s visit from Alex Nye which took place on Tuesday 16th November in the school library. Alex is a friend of the school who always delivers an interesting and thought-provoking session on Scottish history and ghost stories.
