Despite the Covid-19 pandemic curtailing many of the normal inter-house events in the school, the senior house captains and prefects ran a pumpkin carving competition for their fellow S5 and S6 pupils on Friday 30th October. The event followed all social distancing and enhanced hygiene guidelines but also delivered a much-needed injection of fun into the school’s Halloween celebrations. Many of the pumpkins modelled fantastically spooky designs but in the end it was Lorne house who grabbed first place in both the fifth year and sixth year competition.
As part of their SCQF Employability Award, a group of S5 pupils recently watched ‘Coach Carter’ to prepare for their “Building Employability Skills” Unit. The pupils also looked at different styles of leadership and the many links to the working world! This is part of the ongoing commitment by the school to develop the young workforce.
