1+2 MODERN LANGUAGES AWARDS

A group of pupils from Braidhurst High School attended 1 + 2 Modern Languages award ceremony at the Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie this week.   They were recipients of certificates for showing exceptional talent in their study of Modern Languages and they assembled with other pupils from various schools in Lanarkshire who were receiving similar awards.   The ceremony was presided over by Mr Robert Dalzell, Continuous Improvement Officer for North Lanarkshire Council and also present were Dr Sabine Schluter from the Goethe Institute in Glasgow and Nathalie Kormatz from the Alliance Francaise.

Braidhurst pupils received certificates as follows:

For Outstanding Language Learner of the Year in S1 – Joseph McPake and in S2, Olivia Biggart.

For Outstanding Language Learner of the Year in French and German in S3 – Alistair Small.

For Consistent Effort and Progress in French and German – Amy Kennedy in S3.

The group was accompanied by Mrs Eleanor Magowan, Principal Teacher of Modern Languages, and Juliette Lucas, the French assistant who has been working with the pupils throughout the year and was extremely proud of their achievements.
