Writing

Fidget Spinner Writing

There are 4 parts to a simple creative writing story.

1. All stories need a character.  Someone who the story is going to be about.

2. Second, that character needs, well character. Are they scary? Are they scared? Do they never get scared even when they should be?

3. Next, we need to know where the story is taking place, the location, the setting. Are they somewhere realistic or somewhere completely bizarre and made up?

4. Last, there needs to be a problem or a situation. What happens in the story? What is the story all about?

I am sure you all remember the huge craze of fidget spinners that drove teachers to despair!

Well today I ask you dig them out and cut the corner off of a piece of paper and stick it to one of the ends of the the fidget spinner.

Number 1 – Pick a character

Number 2 – Pick the situation

Number 3 – Pick your location

Number 4 – What is your character like?

OK now you are ready to start writing your story. Remember to write in sentences and try and use interesting openers and connectives in your story!!!!

Learning Intention: to be able to find the perimeter of a shape.

The perimeter of a shape is simply:-
‘the total distance around its outside’
This simply means you add all the outside lengths together. Some of the examples you will be working on below you will need to add decimals. Before you start watch the video on the link below to refresh your memory on how to add decimals and complete the adding decimals worksheets.
