Rainforest Research Task

Primary 4/5 have been learning all about the rainforest in Term 3. To support this learning in class I am setting a research task. Pupils can choose to present their research on a powerpoint or word process and download. Alternatively, don’t worry if you are not able to do this you can hand-write and illustrate with some of your lovely drawings.

Mrs Manning has been thinking about ideas for your research task.

  1. Many pupils  chose as their health and well being target, to find out more about how we can look after the environment. Your research task could focus on the importance of ‘saving the rainforest’. What can we do to protect the rainforest, why is it important that developers aren’t allowed to cut down the trees in the rainforest.
  2. The rainforest is filled with 1000s of interesting plants and animals. Your research task might look at the different layers of the rainforest and which animals and plants you can find.
  3. Tribes who live in the rainforest is another interesting area we have looked at in class and which you might want to find out more about.
  4. General information about the geography of the rainforest. What is the temperature like, where are the the rainforests in the world, what is a rainforest.

You choose whatever interests you most. The main thing is that your research is accurate and well presented. Remember to use headings and sub- headings.
