We have been using rulers to accurately measure lines.
We created our own Nessie pictures using paper plates and bubble wrap and made our own tartans using 3 different colours of paint.
In class we have been watching daffodils and hyacinths grow. We had fun painting pictures of them too!
We have been working in pairs to design a poster which will give some examples of things we do which show we are responsible.
Outside we worked in pairs to give and follow directions within the marked square.
We enjoyed a lovely morning at Bourtreehill Library where the librarians read stories and prepared fun activities for us.
We have also been having lots of fun outside with our friends.
Within numeracy we have been trying out different strategies to solve calculations. We enjoy using Numicon.
We have been using tally marks to record how many birds come into the school grounds.
We have made number caterpillars which show a sequence of eleven numbers.
In Primary 1/2 we have been doing lots of activities based around the story of ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. The children have had great fun retelling the story using cards and a variety of different objects and materials.
In class we are learning about Castles. We have had fun building castles in the sand and with wooden bricks. We have also been using the Numicon to create colourful castle pictures and designed our own silver castles with shiny paint.
