Curriculum Outline Pioneers Term 1 2023.24

September Update.

The Pioneers have settled well into their school routine. We have been enjoying reading The Colour Monster and use this to identify and talk about different feelings. The Pioneers have been learning about Harvest and have incorporated this into Numeracy as we have been identifying coins and adding coins in our farm shop. In outdoor learning we have been enjoying making a scarecrow and an autumnal wreath.

October Update

The pioneers enjoyed a trip to Kilmarnock college to attend Sportability. We took part in lots of sports, including rugby, table tennis and athletics.

November Update

As part of our lesson on life skills, we made a sandwich and enjoyed a delicious picnic outdoors.

We enjoyed lots of time outdoors in the Autumn sunshine. C did a super job helping keep the playground tidy!

December Update

In December we had fun performing in our Christmas Show. All of the parents and carers who came along thought it was wonderful!

J and C have been working hard reading and writing some tricky words! Well done boys!

Curriculum Outline Pioneers Term 3 2023.24

January Update

We have been investigating measure using non standard units. All of the children had great fun taking part in a variety of practical tasks.

We have really enjoyed using the large equipment at PE. Everyone has listened carefully and used the apparatus safely.

February Update

In February we set up a class shop. We were learning all about money, the shop helped us understand and show an awareness of money. Miss Sands loved being the shopkeeper!

We were lucky to begin Rebound Therapy sessions this month. All of the children were given a chance to take part in the therapy and it has been found to be very worthwhile.
