Welcome to St Stephen’s

Welcome to the website of St Stephen’s High School which I hope provides you with information about our fantastic school community and the incredible work that takes place within it.

Here at St Stephen’s we are first and foremost a Catholic community of faith and learning which places the Gospel values at the heart of all that we do. We aim to promote a learning environment that is ambitious, nurturing, inclusive and supportive where everyone is welcome and none are judged. Relationships underpin the work that takes place in our school and everyone is treated with love, respect, dignity and compassion.

In our school we encourage everyone connected to our community; pupils, staff, parents and partners to “Strive For Success” in everything that we do. We are incredibly ambitious for our young people and believe that everyone has the potential to achieve success. We encourage and support the highest standards in every aspect of the life of the school from attitude to learning, personal conduct and coming to school ‘dressed for success’ in our uniform. We want our young people to feel proud to be part of our school community. We encourage everyone to find the ‘greatness’ within them and use their God given talents to make a difference to their communities and the world in which we live.

Partnerships are key to ensuring that we can deliver on our ambitions. We place immense value on working closely with parents/carers to ensure that our young people achieve their potential. We strongly encourage anyone connected with our school community to contact us should they have any questions about the work taking place within our school or their child’s learning. I am confident that by working together, everyone connected to our school community will continue to thrive.

To quote the late Pope Benedict XVI in his message to young people

“The world offers you comfort. You were not made for comfort,
you were made for greatness”

We look forward to working with you to help our young people discover the greatness within them.
