We are delighted to have been awarded the Scottish Booktrust Reading Schools Award: Gold Accreditation in June 2022.

Having looked through all of your excellent evidence, I am delighted to let you know that you have achieved your Reading School: Gold accreditation!
The huge amount of work and dedication you have put into the programme really shone through your application – what an incredible reading environment for your learners. Reading through your evidence was an absolute joy; your staff, learners and their families should be incredibly proud, what you have achieved is inspiring! Well done indeed!

We celebrated WORLD BOOK DAY 2021……..despite the P4-7 children being at home during lockdown. The children who were in school spent the day reading, listening to stories and they even took part in a book Skavenger Hunt! The 4-7 children took part in a special book quiz on Teams! It was called ‘Win the Books’ (adapted from the Saturday Night Takeaway game ‘Win the Ads’). The children answered questions to win books for their class libraries! Click on this link to play too!
Have you met the KPS Book Fairies yet? They have their own Twitter account……..follow their adventures @KPSBookFairies. They live in our school grounds and they love watching us read! They have even made us a special fairy house that is going to be out outdoor library….we are so lucky!
