Higher English students undertake work on analysing Literature through writing Critical Essays and answering questions on the ‘Scottish Text’ element of the course. Non-fiction RUAE tasks develop transferable comprehension skills. A Folio of work contains Discursive and Creative work which is submitted to the exam board in March. In these vital examination years, students are encouraged to reflect upon their work and form individual targets for improvement. A targeted Supported Study programme enhances students’ opportunities for success, and is successfully combined with Easter Revision Booklets, Prelim Feedback and a Higher Talk support group.
