The ‘Wee Round School’ is at the heart of our local community and we welcome opportunities to be active participants in our town and indeed across Inverclyde.
George Wylie Community Garden
Our gardening group supports the community garden dedicated to the late artist George Wyllie which has officially opened in Gourock – his home of 50 years.
An area of Shore Street has been transformed into a green space celebrating his art as part of Inverclyde Council’s towns and village centre regeneration funds.
Compassionate Inverclyde
We are proud to work and with Compassionate Inverclyde and have helped populate the ‘Back Home’ boxes which we know makes such a positive impact.
Gourock Burns Club
Our P7 pupils host an annual Burns Supper and we enjoy the company of members of our local Burns Club who come along and support the event. Members also come along and judge our P7 poetry contest and the winners receive a beautiful Burns poetry book kindly donated from the club.
Gourock Rotary Club
We have participated in a number of events with our local rotary club and charity events. Most recently we have received funds to install a community defibrillator which will hopefully be installed in the coming months.
Cooperative Store
Our local Co-operative store generously supports the school and has strong links with our Fairtrade Committee.
Texas Instruments
Our P6 & P7 pupils had an amazing experience participating in a day of STEM activities at Texas Instruments. They also got the opportunity to see the silicon wafers which are manufactured at the factory. Thanks so much to Texas Instruments for affording us this excellent opportunity.
