This year our Junior Road Safety Officers are Max R, Luke T and Jessica R. A huge well done to them being voted for to fulfil this responsible role for the school.
The JRSO officers had a table at parents night and handed out the new Drivers Charter along with a questionnaire.
They also displayed the new Ziggy book which is called Ziggys Sports Day. Lots of adults took the Charter and the questionnaire away to complete and they look forward to receiving them back.

On Wednesday 12th September Mrs Stewart and our JRSOs conducted the ‘Hands Up Scotland Survey 2018’ to gather information on how pupils travel to school.
The JRSOs counted the number of pupils in each class and then asked the key question ‘How do you normally travel to school?’ They then collated the data and sent it to Sustrans.
Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle: We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute.
Details of the survey can be viewed by clicking on the link.
They have already held their first meeting with Mrs Stewart and have come up with some great ideas. The ‘Child Friendly Drivers’ Charter is going to be updated and relaunched soon. Also, the JRSOs were told at a special meeting with Margaret Dickson (Road Safety Officer with Inverclyde Council) about a new book that is being issued about Ziggy. It is entitled ‘Ziggy and The Egg and Spoon’. The story is all about Ziggy going to school sports day in the car, with his friend. What happens when they arrive…..wait and see.
