Approaches to Remote Learning January 2021

SUNDAY 20 DECEMBER 2020

Dear Parents.

Following yesterday’s announcement by the FM, we met this morning to put plans in place for this week and the return in January. We are awaiting guidance from Inverclyde Council HQ which will come around lunchtime tomorrow.  We want to assure parents that as soon as we have this information, we will communicate it with you. We have contingency plans in place for many possible eventualities and we are confident that, as a school community, we will cope with and guide you through the changes and challenges we are about to embrace over the month ahead.

As always, your support, patience and understanding is appreciated more than you will ever know and take comfort that we will work with each of you to ensure we are doing our best for your children and our families.

Enjoy the rest of you weekend and we will be in touch soon.

Update from Mr McGowan Sunday 19 April

Good morning all.

I hope you’ve managed to enjoy some nice times as a family over the last couple of weeks. Tomorrow would have seen us welcome the children back to school under normal circumstances and all the staff are hugely disappointed not to be doing so. Tasks shall continue to be set for the children throughout each week through TEAMS and Glow and each teacher will be available through this form of communication.

This week, we will also and endeavour to contact each of you over the telephone. The call will either come from your child’s teacher or a member of the school’s senior management team and it would be great if we were able to get a chat with the children, even just for a minute or two.

We are going to discuss further home learning packs coming out to families who need these, but more details will follow later in the week. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly on gw07mcgowangreg@glow.sch.uk if there’s anything we can do to help.

Take care.

Greg McGowan
