Library Visits

Session 22-23

Once again we are looking forward to our library visits. All classes will be given the opportunity to visit the library in Term 2. Pupils will select a book and bring back to class to enjoy at personal reading times.

We are also very excited to be developing our own school library and have established a ‘Young Librarians’ group. They have been lucky enough to receive training from Inverclyde Library Services on classifying books and running a school library. We have also enlisted the help of parents to get this up and running. We can’t wait to get started!

Term 4 2022

We are delighted to have library visits scheduled for all classes after the Spring Break. We are so looking forward to visiting.

Update September 2020

Currently due to Covid-19 we are unable to visit the library, however we are soon going to welcome the start of a new initiative – the Library Book Box scheme.  Classes will be able to enjoy a range of books selected by library staff. We are looking forward to our first boxes.

Session 2019-2020

Thank you to the Central Library for welcoming all classes to visit the library this term. Some classes have already visited and borrowed a whole class worth of books! We are busy reading for pleasure in class and we have had super feedback from staff and pupils. We look forward to developing this community partnership and encourage a love of reading for all.

Please remember it is FREE membership for all. You can pick up a form from the school office.

P2 went on an adventure to the library and we all got a book to read in class! It was worth the walk in the wild weather!

Primary 6/7 thoroughly enjoyed their visit to central library today!! Lots of interesting books borrowed… let the reading commence

P7 borrowed books from Greenock Central Library and are just loving reading them to their P1 buddies 🙂
