P2b had fun working with P5 pupils learning how to use a compass and follow directions using directional language. P2b were able to find North South East and West using their compass.

We’re going on a bear hunt
Last week p1b listened to the story We’re going on a bear hunt.
We went on our very own bear hunt around the school grounds. The children loved retelling the story in real life. This inspired our writing and art for the week. Check out our fantastic story maps.

P4a Update
It has been a busy and exciting couple of weeks in P4a! In writing, we have been creating engaging non-chronological reports, developing our research and writing skills. We have been focused on using connectives and different openers to make our writing even more interesting.
In maths, we’ve been exploring 2D and 3D shapes while continuing our work on fractions.
During PE, we’ve been lucky to have a football coach helping us develop new skills. As part of our Viking topic, we have advertised Viking longhouses and learned about the Battle of Largs. We even wrote diary entries from the perspective of Scots preparing for battle.
We have also had the chance to visit our lovely library and choose some new books to enjoy!

This week in p6a!
Literacy – For the past few weeks, p6a have been working really hard to improve their spelling. Daily input in class has been working well to help boost weekly spelling results and children have been engaging in a wide range of written and active tasks each week.
Maths – In maths, we have been working on money, looking at bank statements. We had fun looking at different scenarios and creating bank statements for people, thinking about their situations and what their income and outgoings would be. It was very eye-opening to see how much things cost and how little money can be left at the end of the month to do fun things!
