P6B go to Pinkston!

P6B went to Pinkston Water Sports on Wednesday. We went into the local woodlands and learned all about appreciated our green spaces within Glasgow. We created art using leaves and sticks, went on a bug hunt, and completed some team challenges. We did especially well in the team challenges and our instructor was impressed with our teamwork!

Afterwards, we went canoeing in the man-made canal! We had to work together to make the large canoe move against the strong winds. At the end we all had a race in the canoes and got to jump in the canal!

It was a fantastic day and now we cannot wait for next week!

P6 put on their Showcase!

This week P6 did their Rights and Respecting Showcase! They have been working extremely hard on their songs and we are so proud of them all! Thank you to everyone who came to see P6 and we hope you enjoyed the show!

P6B Getting Ready for Their Showcase

P6B have been hard at work practising for their upcoming Showcase! We have created beautiful pieces of art that symbolise Children’s Rights and we cannot wait to display them on the stage.

We have been practising our songs and have shown incredible enthusiasm for our show!

On top of all of this, we did a whole-class litter pick around the car park to keep our school and community tidy and we also read a poem at assembly for our retired janitor Andy! P6B are incredibly busy over the next few weeks and we are excited to show you what we have been working on.

Oceans in P6B

This week P6B looked at the layers of the ocean and all the wonderful animals that live there! We labelled a diagram that showed the 5 different layers of the ocean, and now we are working on a class display!

We used our iPads to research marine life and drew pictures of them that will be displayed on our topic wall. They will be placed within the ocean zone that they live in. We have worked incredibly hard on this and the drawings are beautiful!

See us next week for the finished result!
