This week in P7b…

This week was a busy one in P7b. Lots of us were off on our high school visits and we had end of year assessments to get done. With a very busy couple of weeks ahead, we are taking it all in our stride. Show rehearsals are taking over, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we have been working on.

This week in P7b…

We have started rehearsing for our Leaver’s show and all busy planning and preparing for our roles. Song practice is going well and everyone is enjoying learning some dance moves.

We all did well on our negative numbers assessment in Maths and are still enjoying exploring our film Big Hero 6 in literacy.

For IDL we are making good progress planning and creating our own movies.

Our fielding skills are improving in rounders and we get more competitive every week.

This week in P7b…

This week we celebrated 850 years since Glasgow was officially given Burgh status. We learned what this means and about some of Glasgow’s history. We explored the Coat of Arms and the stories connected to it and created some of our own that represent us. In Maths we solved a series of problems relating to planning a 850 celebration day parade. We finished the day off making ‘jeely pieces’ and talking about some of our own favourite memories and experiences in Glasgow.

This week in P7b…

Week one of term 4 has been busy in P7b. We’ve been making big swings in P.E starting off our block of rounders with Miss Kelly.

We have been exploring Roman Numerals in maths and have been able to apply our knowledge to solve problems.

We have started our unit on film literacy by looking at the short film ‘The Ball’ and have been learning how to identify camera angles and sound used in film and have been trying to describe how they impact the viewer.

Our spelling tests went very well with more than half the class getting full marks and the rest not being far off.

We have started on our topic of ‘The Movies’ by having a look at the film making process and hope to be able to apply this knowledge to create films of our own soon.

We have been working hard on our Political Party manifestos as part of our IDL topic. A huge congratulations to the winners of our p7 election “The Sports Party”.

We have had lots of assessments this week as we come towards the end of term but these have gone very well and everyone is very confident.

Our March Maths Challenge has been the best yet!

We have had fun getting creative using our coordinates skills to make some amazing art work.

We have been working very hard on our gymnastics routines and performed for the class.

Our PATHS this term has been including lots of role play which we are great at getting involved in.

We are getting very confident with compass points and bearings and have started to look at coordinates.

This week the Traitors came to p7b. As part of learning how to justify our opinion in group discussions  we will be using the round table and Traitor accusations, with evidence this term. Who will be victorious? The Faithful or the Traitors…

We had every pupil with PE kit for the first time this year, just in tie for starting gymnastics with Miss Stevenson. It was much more fun than a lot of us expected it to be.

Everyone is enjoying distance, speed and time and we are having lots of fun applying our knowledge to real life scenarios.

We have introduced table groups with a point system and everyone is very motivated to keep our classroom looking its best.

WE WENT ON OUR RESIDENTIAL!!

There was a lot of falls, slips, trips and muddy puddles but these didn’t stop us from having so much fun.

There was dance parties, Burns songs round the campfire and games at night.

We are home, exhausted and brimming with good memories.

We had a great tie doing the Maths escape room. It was really fun and we worked well together to complete the challenges.

We introduced our new genre in Writing and have started a self assessment and redrafting project to help us build our confidence.

We started new books and a new reading routine and all agree we think it is going to go well for us.

We have almost finished learning about report writing and have been getting on so well. Next week we need to put all our knowledge together to create a report on Robert Burns for our assembly.

We have had the Achieve More coaches again for PE and still absolutely love them. Scottish Country Dancing in the playground is also good fun but a bit chilly.

We all passed our maths assessment and are getting ready for the holidays.
